The Queen's Gambit: A story of pure passion Review-Netflix
The Queen's Gambit takes its name from the well-known chess opening method mentioned in 1940 in Gottingen, and the chess games are written by Gary Kasparov, a famous chess player. Kasparov said in an interview that Beth's story is the female version of American grandmaster Bob Fischer`s life.
Holaaa, guapos! Be ready now, because I coming with the TV show of the year!
The Queen's Gambit!
This queen blew my mind from the first moment I saw her.
In a 1950s orphanage, a young girl reveals an astonishing talent for chess and that changes her life for good, and Netflix explores the true cost of genius in the best way ever. But, let's not forget about Walter Tevis is the one who wrote that amazing novel in 1983 when there were no women titled as grandmaster in chess. What a talent! I believe, and not just me, that The Queen's Gambit is one of Netflix`s most successful releases.
I can't help myself not giving you some spoilers. Unfortunately, I need to.😏 So, if you didn't watch it yet, don't hate me!
After her mother's sudden death, Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) moves toMethuen Home at the tender age of nine. She spends her girlhood in this lonely place, her only happiness learning chess in the basement and, when she can’t, playing chess games in her mind. Her only friend Jolene is the only person who cares about her, always being supportive.
She watches pretty girls get adopted out of Methuen, and voila! The day which she gets adopted comes. She beats her homeliness and her destiny changes for good. Beth is twelve when she finds a home with Mrs. Wheatley, who is both an arguably bad parent and an awesome woman. The good thing is that she offers Beth the love and independence she needs to play chess, which is very unusual for a girl. Here, Beth's journey starts.
Chess comes with child stardom, and something like that never comes without a price. It comes with addiction to tranquilizers provided by the state as a sedative for children, then alcohol, Beth being always fueled by narcotics. Besides her success in chess, wild nights and alcohol send her into a self-destructive spiral.
Her inside demons never let her go. However, it transforms Beth into an impressively skilled glamorous queen of chess, fighting the male-dominated world. She succeeds and not just that. She rocks! Even if you are not passionate about chess you will feel it to the core, and I am sure it will be one of your favorite series.
I know something. In his book, Tevis describes Beth as an unattractive, ugly girl. All I am saying is that Anya Taylor-Joy is too beautiful for this role, but I am glad she accepted. The Queen's Gambit would not be the same without her. The actress conquered the world at her twenty-four! 👏👏 👏

Anya Taylor-Joy learned to play chess for The Queen`s Gambit from the chess master Bruce Pandolfini. She admitted herself that she had no idea how to play chess before. The show also appears to be responsible for an ongoing, pandemic-induced chess boom. Even I thought to start playing chess. Once😁or twice😁
All I want to say is that The Queen`s Gambit worth your time.
Guys, I am not a professional reviewer. I do not know how to do that, but I hope I did it well. Anyway, I never liked the perfect and very professional things. It is boring😁 I just wanted to share it with you. I let you know that I will do that from time to time.
Enjoy the trailer, and happy watching! If you will watch it or if you already did write to me your thoughts;)
